About
MY OWN STORY...
My journey to psychology started in 2010 when I enlisted in the Marine Corps. I wanted to test myself, serve something bigger than me, and find out what I was really made of.
An injury ended that chapter sooner than I expected, but it also left me with a question I couldn’t shake: how does the body carry both incredible strength and deep vulnerability at the same time, and how do those experiences change the way we move through life and connect with people?
That question followed me to my undergrad, where I studied physical education and exercise science. While a lot of my classmates were heading to the cafeteria after class, I was rushing off to mop floors and set up a bar, headphones in, listening to psychology audiobooks. Two of them stopped me cold—The Body Keeps the Score and The Center Cannot Hold.
I’d be standing there with a mop in my hand, mouthing "oh my god," realizing the thing that lit me up wasn’t just helping bodies get stronger or talking to my customers about their troubles. It was understanding how our minds protect us, adapt, and quietly find their way back to healing.
That’s when I knew: I wanted to sit with people in the places that hurt and help them remember they’re still whole.

A BIT MORE ABOUT MY BACKGROUND

In 2017 I started graduate school at Antioch University New England and earned both my Master’s and PsyD in Clinical Psychology. Along the way I trained in community mental health centers, college counseling, and the Veterans Affairs system—places that showed me, over and over, how resilient people can be when they finally feel safe and seen.
These days I dedicate my time to my private practice here at Hayfield Healing. I work with adults from diverse backgrounds, including Veterans, immigrants and members of the LGBTQ community, and bring both clinical training and lived understanding to trauma-focused work.
My approach brings together the solid foundations I love—person-centered, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral work—with the body-centered, trauma-specific tools that truly move the needle:
-
EMDR
-
Brainspotting (Phase 1 trained)
-
Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM)
-
Clinical Hypnosis when it fits
I specialize in helping adults who look like they have it all together but quietly feel stuck, anxious, or disconnected, especially after trauma, difficult relationships, or years of putting everyone else first.
Whether we meet in my Gulf Breeze office (just minutes from Pensacola) or online in Colorado, Virginia, or elsewhere (I’m authorized in 40+ states), the work is the same: steady, collaborative, and focused on helping your nervous system remember what safety feels like, so you can live and relate from a place that finally feels like home.
